Reiki is an ancient healing method . Reiki the word means (loosely translated) flowing universal energy.There are different levels of reiki practitioners that one can attain.

Reiki student is the first level one is initiated into on the road to learning Reiki. Once a student has acquired the necessary knowledge of Reiki, and have received the attunement from a teacher to heal both themselves and others, they graduate to practitioner level.

Reiki master is the last stage of Reiki certification. Only Reiki practitioners who are initiated and posess substantial knowledge over this healing art are allowed to use this honorable title. A reiki master is one who has received one of the reiki symbols, and is certified to teach students and attune the students through the 3 levels.

Almost everywhere in the world Reiki is known to have 3 levels or degrees.

In level one, the learner is taught how to heal himself and also others. In this level the Reiki Master performs 4 different attunements on the student.

On level 2, the reiki practitioner is trained into using the special reiki symbols which make him an even powerful healer. The student receives another attunement in this level. In the stage the student graduates as a Reiki Practitioner.

In the last stage, the student finally becomes the teacher who is now allowed to use a master level symbol. The new reiki master is now able to not only heal others but teach and graduate his or her own students too.
